Coaching for Writers' Block
"After hearing about Mark's success with another one of his clients who had what he called a writers' stammer I thought that it would be an interesting idea to have a session with Mark to explore my own writer's block. I am a psychotherapist and understood that what Mark does is not psychotherapy but coaching with a specific outcome. So I was intrigued and hopeful.
During the two hours with me we explored my different 'parts' and their usefulness in keeping me from writing. We found that in many ways they protected me from putting myself out there and from being exposed.
We determined what I wanted my outcome to be ... to be able to write and connect with people in a helpful way. During the time with Mark I actually felt pathways opening up and ideas forming for my writing.
The next day, I was fully prepared to immerse myself in a project however was not able to begin. I discovered a very deep part of me that had experienced trauma as a child was in need of real psychological work before I could begin to write. So I took this to my psychotherapist and we are successfully working on healing that part of me.
So I see my time with Mark to have been very useful in pointing me in the right and specific direction. I know what I indeed need to heal and am in that process now.
Mark's coaching is user friendly, non-threatening and very specific to whatever the client needs it to be. The experience is positive, compliments any growth that a person is trying to do whether in relationship or work."
